Task one flash analysis
What is the format?
The flash so far has seven seasons and in each season there is 23 episodes and in each episode it is 49 to 53 minutes long. It is normally presented on Netflix or on 123 movies which is an illegal website/applications this is for people who can’t or don’t have enough money to pay for Netflix even though its illegal people don’t really get fined or anything from 1-10 scale I assume less than 5 people will get fined or anything like that as well as on illegally they release movies on the actual date which is copy write. It’s also on American Netflix because flash is filmed in America.
Platform
The flash was first presented on American Netflix because the series was originally filmed in America, however you can watch it online / streaming through 123 movies etc. unfortunately this is in episodes, so it can’t be on cinema

Purpose?
The purpose for this film is to entertain the audience and in some episodes it’s also to educate because they always talk about science as flash is a superhero you can run very fast which includes physics. Furthermore this also has bioengineering because this includes medicine and engineering techniques to solve real world problems and this aims to improve human health and that’s what Flash series is all about as Barry Allen/Flash tries to do when using he insane unhuman power. The way they entertain the audience is by the action and superhero fiction.

Target audience
The target audience for flash is age 15 and above because there is a lot of violence and fighting going on in the episodes. I would give ‘the flash’ target audience 12-16 because there are a lot of characters from marvel which makes the episodes more childish in a way. Boys and girls watch the flash because there are scenes which girls like such as weddings and parties.
Genre codes and convention
The genre for the flash is supernatural, heroes, romance and drama because there is a lot of unrealistic villains in the series which makes it supernatural, there is also a lot of heroes who beat the villains in fights. Lastly there are a lot of romantic scenes between the flash and his girlfriend. But on other hand there is emotionally moment is when he his mother was murdered by someone but blamed on his (Barry Allen) innocent father
I would say this also counts as drama because all of flashes friends family
Platform and broadcast
Character/Cast

The primary cast is the actor Grant Gustin which is the Flash as Barry Allen. Carlos Valdes whose ability is what helps the team to discover that Wells is essentially the Reverse-Flash. Another person who has been in the show since it begin.

Poster The first thing I did to make my poster was to draw a hand which was covered with chains. The chains and hand represent the amount of freedom they had which wasn’t much.as you can see there were broken chains as well which connotes that they were fighting and broke some of the chains which gave them more freedom. This was done myself and I scanned it into the laptop/my email. Through photoshop I used various of tools to adjust the image. I used the ‘magic wand tool’ to remove the unwanted outsides. After that I used the lasso tool to make the image sharper and have no edges sticking out etc. after that I used filter and sharpen to make the image more appealing the last step was to use adjustment on the right-hand side and use the graph [ curves] this gave the image its colour and I had to do this three times. A lot of young kids from the age of 11-19 get bullied and know body wants to do anything about it because they don’t want to get involved or its because they are scared it could back fire at them. The advertisement proves my statement when the majority of the customers saw the bullying take place but they didn’t do anything. However, in the advertisement of burger king they decided to prank some of the customers who didn’t help with the bullying and they gave them beat up burgers. The beat up burgers connotes to the kids that are getting bullied. The interesting thing is that all the customers who got that damaged burger started to demand new food or refund. For this poster the mood and atmosphere is exciting and powerful because they use a well known actor to portray that feeling. The genre of this poster is corporate because it is a large company. The point of focus is for the target audience to get drawn into the slogan and have a feeling that they want to try the new product. One way they do is by using their well known slogan ‘ get some nuts’ this is a fun and good way into getting your target audience attracted to the product.if the slogan is effective it will make the target audience repeat it and the target audience will want to know more about the product.the target audience is mainly targeted to younger viewers because younger kids eat more chocolate compared to older target audience, however this is chocolate so this has a wide range of target audience because it is food.
